One of my favorites snacks from Ecuador are the delicious bizcochos (pictured above). They are simple, but tasty biscuits made of wheat flour, sugar, margarine, yeast and a bit of salt.

If you're in Ecuador, and you want to try this wonderful bizcochos, there's one and only one place where you must go and eat them: Cayambe. And if you're there, don't forget to eat them with queso de hoja (string cheese), which is the other must-eat thing over there. I promise you, you won't regret it, and you'll get addicted to them. You'll probably go back home with lots of paper bags filled with bizcochos (oh, and you'll see how greasy they are, because of all the grease stains on those bags).

I just can't describe how good these little things really are, but if you want a little bit more information about the bizcochos of Cayambe, check out this links: a little bit of history about the bizcochos, a personal experience, a bit more about its tradition (and a recipe), and a firm that specializes in baking bizcochos

I got hungry
